Theme: Spin Me!
I’m delighted to reveal my first publically released theme, “Spin Me”! A bright, warm design, it comes with a fixed width, two columns and ready and loaded for widget users.
Downloaded a total of 2113 times
Features of this theme include:
- 1.1 XHTML Valid
- CSS valid
- 508 compliant
- Fixed width
- Two column
- Widget ready
- Works across all resolutions 1024+ (although may look small in very large res)
- Tested on Safari, Internet Explorers 5.5, 6 and 7, FireFox 2.x and Opera 9.x.

I love the theme. I almost wish I used themes from other designers because of this one.
I tested it out on my computer and saw that my blockquotes were messing up. That, in turn, was messing up everything else on the page below them.
I checked the CSS and I changed the padding and added some margin. Just in case you want to look at it, I changed “blockquote” padding with this:
margin: 3px 3px 3px 13px;
padding: 0 5px;

May I ask, what browser are you using? I’ve tested this on Opera, FireFox and IE and it’s all still resolving correctly for me (which is why I have the blockquote in the test text).

I’m using IE6. I didn’t check it in Firefox or Opera before I changed the CSS, but I did afterward.
It’s not the blockquote itself that’s messing up, it’s the stuff that comes after the blockquote. The first part of each line is moving to the left enough so that it disappears.
I had originally thought my XHTML markup was wrong on the test site on my computer until I came back here and saw it was the same here.

Sorry… I see now that the background of the post column is an image with a set width and not just a setting to be changed. I’ll change the size of my photos :)

But I did have a few issues when installing it, if you want to take a look: http://spoken-for.org/?preview_theme=Spin_Me_1.1 (you’ll have to append that ?preview… to every URL)
The tagline doesn’t fit, but then again, mine is really long.
The links aren’t showing in the sidebar - I guess I don’t have a link category with ID 1 or something?
And then visiting any individual url gives me “no posts matched the criteria” error.
Just thought you might want to know. I can try and see what’s wrong more later with the posts but I have to get started on something I’ve been putting off for a long time now… :)

Thank you for your beautiful theme. I especially love your graphics. It’s so unique and light unlike most other themes that are very similar and kinda boxlike.
There is room for improvement in your themes though. In the WordPress part of them. You use a pre 1.5 version of the Loop which save you the use of some templates, but it makes the design a little too unflexible. In regards to plugins, custmization etc. I i.e. had to change the Loop and add the missing templates from the Default theme.
The code in the Default theme has many advantages. It is simple and new template tags and templates are added when new versions of WordPress extend the core functions. Recently tags for tagging and the template for the new gallery function has been added.
I’m not so fond of you using h2-tags for the date neither. Usually for the benefit SEO and Google h1 are used for the website title (as you do) an h2 for the post title. Not the date.
But besides that I love your work and hope you can use my suggestions. If you choose to gettext the themes I would love to translate them to danish.
